You Are Creative.
WRITINGPERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
“I’m just not creative!”
The words erupt from my lips as I hurl my mouse across the room.
Mere frustration transforms into desperation, then red hot anger. With my face slumped into my hands, I feel the hot tears bloom in my eyes.
My deadline is quickly approaching, and I have exactly 17 words carelessly typed into my document. Seventy-two hours and only 17 measly words.
The white space doesn’t look hopeful like most days; instead, it taunts me. Laughs at me for giving in to the notion that I’m not creative. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘭, it sneers, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦.
But as I stand to abandon the project for the warm embrace of my beckoning bed, I feel a rumble arise from deep within me. Then I urgently being typing.
𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦…
The powerful declaration fills the space, replacing the looming despair with possibilities. With each statement, hot coals of inspiration warm my creative core until I feel the fire lapping at my throat.
It extends through my arm. My hands. My fingertips.
Then the creative words begin to flow onto the page.
